Join artist and print-maker Bill Chambers to learn new printmaking techniques alongside the Cardiff Print Workshop’s current exhibition: Ebb & Flow

Tuesday 14th January 10am – 1pm

Drypoint Etching

Using plants and flowers as our starting point, we will explore natural forms through this simple and historical etching process tracing from a drawing or photograph and inscribing lines directly onto transparent plastic plates. This is an ideal way to learn the art of intaglio printmaking through the technique of dry point. Suitable for all ages and abilities but children should be accompanied by an adult.

Saturday 18th January 1.30pm – 4.30pm

Three Colour Monotype Printmaking

This monotype technique is all about transparent primary colours layered onto one print. Using a master drawing as your guide, a plate for each of the primary colours is made – cyan, magenta and yellow. These are printed together in layers to produce a single print with all the crossover colours that result. Suitable for all ages and abilities but children should be accompanied by an adult.
