SHIFT presents two performances at The Turner House in October & November. 25th July - 1st SeptTwilight Barking is a new collaborative project from Arcade Campfa, working with Hafan y Coed adult mental health unit Activities Team. The project looks to explore the animal-human bond, and how animals, and dogs in particular, can alleviate boredom and promote wellbeing for in-patients at Hafan y Coed.
6th June - 14th JulyThe Euro-Wales 92 Group started from an art summer school in Tuscany in 1991 and was officially established a year later in Barry, Wales, by Ceri Thomas, Glyn Pooley, and Robert Greetham, along with eight other artists from Wales. They shared a belief in Wales's inclusion in European culture. Their last exhibition was in Cardiff in 1993 at the Third Wave Gallery.
3rd May - 26th May 2024 INCOMMON situates the work of Amber Mottram and Graham Jones side-by-side, and in dialogue. The exhibition teases out resonances between the artists' distinct and established practices, to reveal commonalities between their conceptual concerns and aesthetic resolutions.
A relaxed ten-week evening class exploring painting, sculpture, architecture, and their contexts from the Middle Ages to the modern day. Begins 15th May 2024
