Artists of all ages and abilities are warmly invited to submit work for inclusion in our annual Open Exhibition at Turner House.
For 2026, we invite you to respond to the theme of ‘Transparency’.
Transparency can take many forms. It might be found in openness, honesty, visibility, revelation, vulnerability, or the act of making something previously hidden visible. It can relate to personal experience, society, politics, nature, technology, materials, memory, or the ways in which we see and are seen by others. We welcome bold, thoughtful and imaginative responses that interpret the theme in whatever way feels meaningful to you.
There is no admission fee.
To ensure we can include as many artists as possible, submissions are limited to one artwork per person. For 2026, we are only accepting 2D, wall-mounted works (e.g. painting, photography, drawing, collage, mixed media). To uphold originality, we are not accepting any AI-generated submissions.
All entries will be reviewed by a panel of local representatives and artists from Penarth. Entrants will be notified of a decision on the week commencing Monday 9 November
Artists must be able to drop off their work in person at Turner House between Monday 16th to Friday 20th November. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept submissions by post.
The Turner House is operated by Penarth Town Council, in partnership with National Museum Wales.
