29th May – 6th July

This exhibition documents the unflinching practice of David Garner, an artist whose work spans decades of political resistance, material investigation, and poetic protest.

David Garner’s work has always struck me with its raw, unrelenting honesty. I’ve followed his practice for years, and each piece continues to challenge, provoke, and resonate long after encountering it. He doesn’t just make art—he excavates histories, unearths injustices, and lays bare the silent forces shaping our world. His materials—whether a soiled flat cap, a crushed Palestinian football shirt, or steel-wrought relics of labor—aren’t just chosen; they are charged, carrying the weight of real lives and real struggles.

This monograph is a testament to a lifetime of artistic defiance and deep human empathy; the work unflinching, but never cynical. There is poetry in his protest, clarity in his critique, and a profound respect for those whose stories are too often erased. This book is long overdue, and I have no doubt it will stand as a crucial record of an artist who has never stopped asking the most urgent questions.
