11th November – 19th December 2021.
The Makers Guild Wales presents an exhibition of contemporary craft and applied art curated specifically for the Turner House gallery.
Visitors will see exceptional examples of handmade original craft designed and made by members of the Guild. From a membership of over 90 makers across Wales, a selected number will be designing and making new work for the exhibition. Textiles, ceramics, glass, basketry, print and metal work are just some of the crafts being presented. Visitors will also have opportunities to learn more about the crafts on display at ‘Meet the Maker’ events held in the gallery.
The Makers Guild Wales have grown annually in membership since they set up their co-operative in 1984. Becoming an Incorporated Charity in 2006, the Guild run a gallery, Craft in the Bay, where visitors can see and buy contemporary craft, take part in craft events and meet the craft makers. National and international exhibitions held at the gallery each year attract audiences from far afield.
This exhibition at Turner House is a fabulous opportunity for visitors to see the inspiring work being created by craft makers across Wales.
