31st October – 17th November 2024.

An Exhibition exploring the themes of The Art Life Society through diverse mediums while highlighting the needs and aspirations of an inclusive society.

The Art Life Society is a not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to encourage interest in and practice of the visual arts. It provides opportunities to exhibit and participate in art related activities and encourages accessible art for all abilities. It is based in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

The Society has chosen to explore the theme of ‘Necessity or Desire?’ in our forthcoming exhibition. Our artists will be investigating and illustrating conflicting or concordant aspects of the topic using a variety of mediums. This exciting exhibition is being held in the Turner House Gallery from the 31st October – 17th November 2024.

Turner House is a beautiful two storey art gallery. Unfortunately, the upper level is not accessible to those with limited mobility. The Art Life Society exhibition will highlight the issue of inclusivity by displaying all artwork on the accessible ground floor.

This two-hour workshop will be inspired by the Necessity or Desire? theme and the work of amateur artist Dorothy Barron, whose painting of Gayle, Yorkshire (1988) beautifully reflects her passion for art. Whether you’re new to painting or a seasoned artist, this is a wonderful opportunity to explore watercolour techniques and experiment with artistic self-expression.
